31st July, 2008: Preview at GNS Science,1 Fairway Drive, Avalon, Lower Hutt

"It's cloudy. From here, I can only see the base today."
Now she's shifting her eyes to the nearer distance,
She's shifting her weight,
And she's thinking about the garden.
From my position on the other end of the line, at the other end of the world, I've been confirming for her that Ruapehu is indeed hidden behind clouds today.
Ruapehu has been hidden for some days.
The sheltering clouds,
The soft cloak.

The performance was given at the preview at GNS Science in Wellington, New Zealand and then at the gallery opening in Whitespace, Auckland New Zealand accompanied by painted works.
The project was based on images taken over the forty days of Lent, from the webcam at the Chateau Airport in Tongariro National Park, New Zealand.
My acknowlegement goes to GNS Science, the Government owned research institute, for their support in this project. GNS Science is one of Aoteaora New Zealands knowledge bases on earth systems, isotope and nuclear sciences.
